The Drag City label (also home to Joanna Newsom, Bonnie Prince Billy, Bill Callahan) have just released his latest album ‘Asleep on the Floodplain’ which Mojo gave four ...stars, calling it “a mind altering missive from rustic America” whilst The Quietus described it as “winding, bonfire-smoked folk”. Uncut called it “a very intimate, fireside record”. He is touring the UK and Europe to play it live, solo on acoustic guitar.

Colour Sun are a Falmouth duo who conjure distinct melodies from fingerpicked acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, harmonium & crisp vocal harmonies. Taking influence from the Brit folk axis of Drake, Martyn & Jansch they also invoke Malian desert drift. Norman Records recently gave their ep's “blissed out psychedelic folk” 5 stars.

More Six Organs Reviews

“Its overall mood is pastoral, meditative… spinning its mellow, Eastern-tinged improvisations & gentle psych-folk into a cohesive listen that is never lacking in inspiration. It is an enveloping listen, my favorite album of 2011 to date.” Brainwashed.com

“Sounding like it was made outdoors in a valley between brushy mountains, Asleep is earthy and raw… Its kindred record would be 2005’s School of the Flower” 8/10 Popmatters.com

“There are resonances with the work of The Incredible String Band, Davey Graham and John Renbourn... An exotic tinge pervades, with trimmings of Indian and Turkish folk music.” BBC
