Esteban Antonio - Acclaimed Guitarist at the Pavilion

Princess Pavilion / Events
Date: Jul 02, 2010 - 12:27 PM
The Princess Pavilion will be welcoming you to something unique and very different when internationally acclaimed guitarist and composer Esteban Antonio plays the Ha-Shem on Saturday 17th July. If you haven’t heard of a Ha-Shem before don’t worry, you’re not alone because Antonio has only just invented it!...

The Ha-Shem is a 17 string, 3 necked Grand Concert Classical Harp Guitar and was built in Cornwall by Christopher Wood. Esteban says; “The Ha-Shem doesn’t sound like a guitar, even though it is two 11 string guitars together; it is not a harp, but it’s more like a harp than a guitar! The unique sound of the Ha-Shem together with the use of a bow creates yet another dimension to the overall sound which is a completely new departure in the evolution of sound, harmonies + composition – this is the classical guitar of the 21st Century!”

Esteban will be performing his new album, Awenyow which is inspired by the legends and dreams of Cornwall. If you would like a preview of the sound go to the Princess Pavilion webpage and watch the promotional video.

Support on the night comes from Martin Bowie, a professional jazz guitarist who plays and composes on a more traditional guitar. His music is a blend that encompasses jazz, classical, Latin and Spanish music, with thick and rich harmonies and melodies, reflecting the styles of the music that he loves.

So it sounds as though the Pavilion is the only place to be on Saturday 17th July if you like top acoustic guitar sounds. The seated show starts at 8pm with tickets £10 in advance from the box office 01326 211222 via the website: www.princesspavilion.co.uk, plus See Tickets and Hall for Cornwall.
