Los Campesinos play Princess Pavilion

With their new album ‘Romance Is Boring’ gaining rave reviews and the UK tour having just started it’s time to start getting excited about the fact that Los Campesinos! are set to play their first ever Cornish date at Princess Pavilion on Friday 26 February with support from the equally exciting Swanton Bombs and Islet...

‘Romance is Boring’ sees Los Campesinos! shed their twee indie-pop credentials in favour of much bigger Pixies-esque riff-led rock and have been getting high praise indeed from national music press with the likes of NME awarding it 8/10 and the Guardian heralding it as simply ‘exhilarating’.

Support on the night comes from Swanton Bombs who have the raw garage-blues ethic that The White Stripes but songs like ‘Turnstile’ are more reminiscent of the harmonies and melodies of the new age Mystery Jets. Put it this way, this isn’t indie by numbers. And if you’re going to pick two bands to emulate then those two aren’t half bad.

Openers Islet from Cardiff are somewhat of a super group made up of ex members of the likes of The Victorian English Gentleman’s Club and have been gigging around Cardiff for the past few months and wowing crowds with their skuzzy no-wave sounds.

Tickets are £9.00 in advance and are on sale from seetickets.com or from venue box office 01326 211222. Subject to booking fee.
