The Cornwall Music Therapy Trust is set to benefit from a charity concert featuring some of the Westcountry’s outstanding players. The High Octane Jazz Orchestra will be presenting their annual concert at the Green Lawns Hotel, Falmouth on Friday 3 July at 8pm...

The orchestra is drawn from the teaching staff of the Cornwall County Music Service and the concert will include music for all tastes – whether it be the Big Band sound of Count Basie or Woody Herman; the popular songs of Frank Sinatra and Lionel Ritchie to the modern sound of Pat Metheny.

The concert will be in aid of The Cornwall Music Therapy Trust and the musicians all have given freely of their time to support the Trust. The Cornwall Music Therapy Trust was launched in 2006 to oversee and help fund the development of and research into music therapy in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to support children and adults suffering from mental or physical illness, with disabilities, emotional or behavioural problem.

The Trust is supporting music therapists working with children in special and mainstream schools, the Royal Cornwall Hospital and Child Development Centre and has established an ensemble for adults with special needs in St Austell. www.cornwallmusictherapy.org.uk.
