Summer of Stars at Princess Pavilion

Princess Pavilion / Music
Date: May 09, 2005 - 12:00 PM
The Princess Pavilion launches its bumper Summer Programme with a packed line-up of music and entertainment from June to September...

15,000 copies will be delivered to households in Penryn, Falmouth and the surrounding area by the end of May with additional copies available from the theatre foyer or by contacting the box office on 01326 211222.

The pavilion has tripled its entertainment programme in just two years to become a major location for music and entertainment in the region with big name artists increasingly prepared to travel as the venue gains a reputation for enthusiastic audiences. The operators, Carrick Leisure Limited, endeavour to provide a varied programme to entertain local residents and visitors and are appreciative for on-going local support of the programme to ensure the continued success of this unique venue.

International names stopping off in Cornwall this summer are Tommy Emmanuel, with return visits by Suzanne Vega and Love with Arthur Lee, whilst Reggae fans will love Sly & Robbie and harmony trio Culture. Festival gurus Ozric Tentacles and Hillybilly rockers Hayseed Dixie provide their unique sounds with other class names such as the James Taylor Quartet, The Mission and The Hamsters appearing with John Otway and Wilko Johnson and yet more rock & blues from Dumpys Rusty Nuts and the Larry Miller band. An evening entitled Summer of Love features The Crazy World of Arthur Brown (The God of Hellfire!) The Country Joe Band and The Muffin Men with Jimmy Carl Black.

Lovers of variety shows and song and dance spectaculars will be delighted with shows such as West End In Concert, Country Legends, Forever in Blue Jeans, Spirit of Ireland and One Night in Vegas. And the tradition of local productions continues with the summer play every Thursday from FAODs called Caught in The Net, a comedy by Ray Cooney, and in September the musical favourite Half a Sixpence, immortalised by Tommy Steele.

Top Tributes to the stars will recreate the magic that is Ozzy Osbourne, the Bee Gees, Elvis, Bon Jovi , the Beach Boys, Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin, Don Williams and Queen. Tickets from the box office and further details at www.princesspavilion.co.uk
