Music at the Star & Garter Falmouth's equivalent of Ronnie Scott's, The Star & Garter, is closing for refurbishment by the new owners, on Monday 19th January after the Monday night jazz so last opportunity for a while to catch the best local live jazz night west of Bristol...

A petition to keep the jazz going on Monday nights in Falmouth was received by the (then prospective) new owners back in September, containing over 200 signatures (over 75 since added), so we hoped they would continue to host the Monday night jazz when the pub reopens after extensive refurbishment.

However, with apparently a six month gap before this happens, I for one won't be holding my breath! With that in mind could the new owners please contact me re returning the signed petitions so they can be returned to their rightful owners, the musicians.

Any suggestions re a new venue for this massively popular Monday jazz night, please contact me.

It will be really sad to see the demise of "the old place" after over quarter of a century of excellent live jazz (and of course much else besides) - please support the musicians on the last three Mondays for a while. As Monday 19th is also the last night the pub is open we're expecting quite a party!
