SARAH GILLESPIE TRIO

Sarah Gillespie's critically acclaimed music is a fusion of jazz, folk and blues knitted together by poetic, streetwise lyricism. The Guardian’s jazz critique John Fordham describes Gillespie as '(joining) Bob Dylan’s lyrical bite and languid delivery to the forthrightness of Joni Mitchell, with a little rap-like percussiveness thrown in, she is an original.' Having toured extensively in Europe and the UK and enjoying live sessions on BBC Radio 4’s 'Start the Week' and 'Woman's Hour', Gillespie returns to St Ives with her new album 'Glory Days.' Her trio features the Mercury nominated Kit Downes on piano and Ben Bastin on double bass. 'Achingly pretty and bittersweet.' The Independent. 'Streetwise and romantic, tender and tough.' Daily Telegraph. 'A beat poet adventurer who strays beyond the bounds of singer-songwriter.' MOJO
