Once again the Princess Pavilion in Falmouth is set to be the place to be on Friday 9 October when two monster bands share the honours in a massive doubleheader 'Falmouth Rock n Blues night'...
Wishbone Ash, were one of a new breed of Progressive Rockers, quick to capitalise on the dearth of exciting music following the breakup of The Beatles, and the demise of the Blues Boom and Psychedelia, and indeed they took full advantage, by developing their unique brand of melodic rock.
40 years on, and the undisputed pioneers of twin lead guitars, the band has gained worldwide recognition. The quintessential road band, they have been credited with influencing some of the major players, including Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden. With power and melody remaining firmly at the forefront, the band appeal not only to hardened fans but also a new generation of rock fans.
The Hamsters, although primarily performing their own material, are widely acknowledged as the leading interpreters of the music of Jimi Hendrix and more recently, ZZ Top. Originally forming for their own amusement, and taking their name from the Sex Pistols who once used it as a pseudonym to outwit hostile councils, they are renowned as one of the hardest working bands, and are firmly established as the UK’s premier blues-rock attraction.
This gig is a must for existing fans and a great introduction to blues rock for new fans too.
Starts 8.30pm. Tickets £17.50 in advance and they'll be on the door. 01326 211222.
