Events The High Octane Jazz Orchestra, an 18 piece collection of music tutors from Truro College, played an amazing gig at the Green Lawns last night for the very worthy cause of the Cornwall Music Therapy Trust...

As well as amazingly tight performances (after 2 rehearsals) we heard of the inspiring effects of therapy on disturbed, even violent, youngsters.

I just wish I'd had my camera to capture the five horns, four trombones, five saxes,(female, entirely on merit), piano, guitar, drums, and, at the pinnacle, the usually retiring doyenne of the bass department keeping things rock solid but inventive, the redoubtable Claudia Colmer who made her mark with the great Ivy Benson Jazz Orchestra, now full circle! (She leads the Star and Garter Trio every Monday + guests)

PS Another Charity gig next weekend - Drat are doing a Techno Night for the RNLI at The Watersports Centre on Friday with DJ Phil & Reggae on Saturday with Ghostboy - both with VJ Ian.
