Music at the Star & Garter It's high time we put more music from the Star & Garter on falmusic, and Monday night's gig by Carol Gasser and the trio (plus the very talented Clare on violin for two numbers) was really excellent, so read on for a couple of MP3s hot off the minidisc, plus the complete gig for registered users...

Carol Gasser - tenor and soprano sax
Roger Barnes - piano
Claudia Colmer - bass
Robbie Brokenshire - drums
* with Clare Tomlinson on violin

Complete set list:

Set 1:

  1. A foggy day
  2. Once I loved
  3. Darn that Dream
  4. It's only a paper moon
  5. Blues a la mode
  6. Song for my father
Set 2:
  1. Nature boy *
  2. Well you needn't *
  3. Speak low
  4. Samba du bois
Here's "Darn that Dream" a lovely ballad featuring Carol on tenor (click on the play button):

and here's Thelonius Monk's "Well you needn't" featuring Clare on violin and Carol again on tenor:

The whole gig, including both the above, is available to registered users as 96kps MP3s in our downloads section. Also available on request as 256kps MP3s - see here for further info.
