Thanks to Joe Dyer for a good piece about us in the West Briton. Check it!
"Are you a local musician? Perhaps you own a venue in the Falmouth area? Maybe you're just a dedicated live music freak? If you can answer yes to any of the above then there's a local website that might just interest you.
www.falmusic.co.uk, a pet project of TiGeR (yes that is a nom-de-plume) and Rob Follett, is a one-stop info-shop covering live music in Falmouth and the surrounding area. The bulk of the site, which is free to use and run as a not-for-profit venture, is taken up with news, reviews and lists of upcoming events. However you'll also find a few nice little treats such as downloadable snippets of music from gigs.
The site takes an open-minded approach to musical tastes, although there is a slight swerve towards the more traditional genres - jazz, blues and rock - this is probably more indicative of the live music scene of Falmouth in general than most sites.
The communal nature of Falmusic is such that contributions are welcome from
all quarters, if there is a band that you feel hasn't been receiving due attention let them know! As long as your copy is readable then it will go up on the site. The chaps can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Falmusic is looking to expand a little in forthcoming months, with more
downloads and a picture gallery in the pipeline.
I met up with TiGeR and Rob last Monday. on a cold night they were camped in the Star and Garter recording the excellent Monday night Jazz session for the website.
Be sure to check the site this week, register as a member and indulge!"
