Jazz Club founder who has worked with many of the great names in British jazz, plus the return of a familiar favourite.

MARTIN SHAW & MARTIN DALE QUARTET


Very accomplished trumpeter, has worked with John Dankworth, Dick Morrisey, Pete King, BBC Big Band, Sting, Jamiroquai, Natalie Cole: appearing with this Plymouth-based saxophonist Martin Dale and rhythm section.

Besides working on upwards of eighty records for other artists, Finn has released a considerable number of his own, including one which received a nomination for best track on the 2005 BBC Radio 1 Worldwide awards. Equally at ease playing anything from hip-hop, dance, classical, or jazz, he's become one of the finest flautists and alto sax players in the UK today.

STEVE BUCKLEY with RALPH FREEMAN TRIO


Since his early days with Loose Tubes, Steve has worked extensively in contemporary jazz, playing anything from free improvised music with musicians such as Steve Noble and Oren Marshall, through more straight ahead jazz with the likes of Gene Calderazzo, Julian Seagal and Phil Robson to traditional African music with Kakatsitsi and the Pan African Orchestra from Ghana.
He has worked with such greats as John Taylor, Jim Black, Myra Melford and Joseph Jarman, and would have been seen most recently with Mark Lockheart's Big Idea and the BBC award-winning band Big Air.
