Events Once again, falmusic is happy to support One World Beat's humanitarian projects for Spring 2005...

Here is a description of what they are about from their website, www.oneworldbeat.org:-

"The concept of One World Beat is simple: Music Making a Difference!

One World Beat is a non-profit organization that unites musicians of all genres to unite and convey a message of hope through their music.

Bands from around the world perform gigs under the One World Beat banner and use their place in the spotlight to do more than just sing about changing the world - they actually do it. By raising funds and awareness for the One World Beat help projects they inspire people and music fans to step out of the shade and take action.

In only three years, the One World Beat community has grown from a visionary idea to a network of people and artists around the world.

"The idea of giving musicians the possibility to be part of a humanitarian project in a direct way was a natural one to me," says Andy "AndiJoon" Treichler, founder of One World Beat. "After all, so much music is about changing the world, about making it better. I see One World Beat as a way to allow musicians like myself to do something more than just sing about making a difference. Now, we have an opportunity to actually do it."

Supported by the United Nations Education Consortium Organization (UNESCO), and artists such as Phil Collins, Mark King, The Cardigans, Westlife, Paula Abdul and hundreds more musicians, One World Beat has successfully staged the Global Music Festival 2003 and 2004.

The Global Music Festival 2005
One World Beat stages the annual Global Music Festival bringing together musicians and bands from around the world in one big event. The first edition of it's kind in 2003 held over 50 concerts in 15 countries, benefiting different help-organizations. In 2004 the festival grew to an amazing 150 events in over 40 countries, collaborating with the non-profit organization Keep A Child Alive to help children living with HIV/AIDS.

For One World Beat 2005 we have chosen to work with the non-profit organizations Liberation Through Education and Outside the Dream to help underprivileged children get an education to shape their future. We are looking forward to inspire people around the world. Music Making A Difference: it never sounded so good!

Beat the Wave

Following the terrible destruction and suffering in South Asia we at One World Beat are putting together a special help project to give some hope to the victims - Beat the Wave.

We are inviting musicians around the world to donate one of their concerts to the Beat the Wave project and to invite their fans to make donation."
