Went to check out the events square layout (by the Maritime Museum) to which the Oyster Festival is moving this year (Oct 16-19)...
Whilst there I was treated to an excellent set from Betty's Blues - of particular note were God Bless the Child and Caldonia which suited Liz's fine range of vocals. Bill's keyboard was equally bluesy and the kazoos and rabbit added an extra dimension.
There is afternoon entertainment all week which includes Bash Street Theatre and Swamp Circus. On Wednesday, Three Daft Monkeys do a workshop followed by a set. On Friday, it's Mukka, and Saturday has Solid Steel and Hammered Steel.
The evenings are themed (disco and bands)as follows:
Mon 11th - Soul Night - Soul Survivors
Tues - 70's tribute - So Disco
Wed - One World - The Sex Slaves From Hell
Thurs - Rock'n'Roll & Swing - King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys
Fri - Indie Rock - Reef
Sat - Caribbean Night - Kaiso
