Dare Mason

House engineer/producer

10 Parade St
Cornwall TR18 4BU

Mobile: 07855 044874

Offers: Since 2001 the VIP Lounge has gained a reputation as one of the busiest and most highly rated studios in the South West. Renowned for its consistently high standards, the studio has attracted clients from London, Norway, France and Ireland. The reason why artists such as Tommy Tokyo (Warner Bros, Norway), Cinerama (led by David Gedge of the Wedding Present) and Brix Smith (ex The Fall) come to Penzance to work at the Lounge is possibly its relaxed atmosphere, its archive of over 30,000 albums, its proximity to the best surfing beaches in the UK or even its competitive rates.

But itís probably because of our resident engineer/producer, Dare Mason. The recipient of two gold discs, his credits include Placebo, The Church, The Blow Monkeys and Soul to Soul. Dare learnt his trade as a house engineer at the Townhouse in the 80ís, then went freelance and produced a number of albums, many for major labels. He is an accomplished sound engineer, and a producer who believes in bringing out the best in the artists and the bands he works with.

Rates for the studio are based around £250 for a 10 hour day. Shorter sessions can be arranged at £30 an hour. Album/EP deals can be worked out and a 10% discount applies to all bookings of at least two consecutive days. Inexpensive, sometimes free, accomodation can be arranged.

Thereís loads more information, photos, sound samples and details of technical stuff on our website.

Wishing you success in all your endeavours.
